Oakland Raiders running back Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles tendon Monday during a workout, and is said to be out for the season. According to reports, Crowell will undergo surgery next sometime next week.
Crowell, who signed a one-year deal with the Raiders this offseason, racked up 4,725 yards from scrimmage and 28 TDs in his first five NFL seasons, beginning with the Browns and then last season with the Jets. The 26-year-old Crowell was listed as the backup on the Raiders depth chart behind rookie Josh Jacobs, the former Alabama running back selected 24th overall in last week’s NFL Draft.
